What is Activity Minimization?
Activity Minimization is a module based feature that allows users to reduce the size and number of the files associated with an OpenField Activity. Minimizing Activities significantly reduces the amount of hard drive or disk space needed to store OpenField Activities and can help prevent local storage from filling up while still allowing easy access to the OpenField data when needed.
Activity Minimization Requirements
-
Download OpenField console Build 3.3+. For instructions on how to download the latest OpenField Build, click here.
-
The DataStorage module must be applied to your account. Please contact support if you wish to add the module to your account.
Setting up Activity Minimization
-
Navigate to the OpenField console default configuration menu.
-
From the Data Minimization box, turn the toggle to 'On'.
-
Click to slide the slider to the desired number of days in which to minimize an Activity after.
Once activated, after the first Full Sync, Activities that are greater than the specified number of days set in the Data Minimization configuration settings will be minimized. Opening a minimized Activity in the OpenField console shows only the metadata for an Activity (i.e. the Activity and Period timelines) without any data present. For more information on how to get data back from a minimized Activity, please see the section How do I recover Data from a Minimized Activity?
If data has been recovered for a minimized activity, the Activity will minimize again after the next Full sync.
