What is a Sync?
An OpenField Sync synchronizes data between the OpenField Cloud and the OpenField Console. The type of data that is transferred depends on whether it is a Sync or Cloud Archive.
Sync
The Sync option Syncs up the complete sensor data (and other Catapult Data File types) to the OpenField Cloud. Sensor data is the data that is Generated from the Raw File that is downloaded post-session from the Device(s).
Cloud Archive
The Cloud Archive Uploads Raw Files for storage on the OpenField Cloud as a means of Data backup. For instructions on how to restore Data from a Cloud Archive, please see Cloud Archive guide.
NOTE:
- Vector 7 users: we recommend a Cloud Archive to be completed at the end of each week. The time for this process will depend on your internet speed. Make sure you have a good quality internet connection prior to running a Cloud Archive.
- Vector 8 users: you are no longer required to complete a Cloud Archive - once your Vector 8 devices are docked, connected to the internet, and the activities have been uploaded, your raw files will be listed automatically.
How to Sync
In the Console, navigate to the OpenField Console Tile Screen. Select 'Sync' or 'Cloud Archive', depending on the type of sync you need. This initiates the sync process.
