When would I need to restore data?
In order for any of your data to be displayed as you like and properly reported on, there need to be active players in your Activities for you to put into Periods. At different points in certain workflows, there are a few possibilities for when data will need to be restored to get Active Players to display. Two examples are:
-
An Activity was accidentally deleted and needs to be restored.
-
There are two separate Activities in a day that downloaded separately and there aren't any Active Players for the latter Activity.
How to Restore Data
-
Take note of the raw file data (i.e. Device ID, athlete, date and duration) that is not showing up in an Activity. This can be noted in the Console under Settings > Transfer. Ensure the 'Show All' box is ticked to view past Download. You can sort the Date in ascending or descending order by clicking on the Date header.
-
From the main tile screen, click Start and then create a new Activity that starts before the Dated timestamp found in the step above and is longer than the Duration of the raw file.
-
Ensure that the calendar date and time is set properly - OpenField will not allow you to create an Activity that is greater than 6 hours.
-
Select the proper Device Type (GPS for outdoor activities, LPS for ClearSky activities, Inertial for inertial activities).
-
Click Create Activity and an Activity Bar will be created.
-
Right click on the orange Activity Bar and select Reprocess/Bake Activity > Fast Bake.
-
When the Bake finishes, as long as the Activity is in the proper time frame, you should have Active Players to put into Periods.
-
For more information on creating, editing and deleting Periods, please see our How to create edit and delete Periods article.
If you aren't able to see Active Players after running through this process:
-
Double check that your devices are properly mapped to athletes - Assigning/Mapping Devices to Athletes.
-
Contact Support by putting through a Help Request.
-
If you have Active Players but are getting an error when attempting to put them into Periods, ensure that the Players are not PIP'd into Periods that run at the same time as the newly created Activity/Period. If the issue persists, please contact support.
