Catapult Vector: Allowing Bluetooth through Privacy & Security

Issue

When attempting to pair your Vector Dock with the Catapult Vector app on your iOS Device (iPad or iPhone), you may experience difficulties getting your Dock to appear in the app's list of available hardware. This is almost always due to the Catapult Vector app not having the necessary permission to use your iOS Device Bluetooth.

How to allow Bluetooth through Privacy & Security for Catapult Vector

1. Ensure iOS Device Bluetooth is On:
   1. First, confirm that your iOS device's main Bluetooth setting is enabled.
   2. Go to Settings > Bluetooth.
   3. The toggle switch at the top to turn it on.
2. Open iOS Device Settings: Locate and tap the grey "Settings" app icon on your iOS Device's Home screen (it looks like gears).
3. Navigate to Privacy & Security: In the left-hand sidebar of the Settings app, scroll down and tap on Privacy & Security.
4. Access Bluetooth Permissions: On the "Privacy & Security" screen, look for and tap on Bluetooth.
5. Grant Catapult Vector Bluetooth Access:
   1. You will see a list of applications that have requested or been granted permission to use Bluetooth.
   2. Locate the "Catapult Vector" App in this list.
   3. Ensure the toggle switch next to "Catapult Vector" is turned on (green). If it is greyed out, it means the app does not have permission.

Return to the app and retry pairing

1. Once you've granted the Bluetooth permission in Settings, close the Settings app.
2. Force-Quit and Reopen Catapult Vector app
3. Turn Off the Dock and Turn On Again
4. Go back to the Catapult Vector app.
5. Navigate to the pairing screen and attempt to connect your Vector Dock.
6. Your Vector Dock should now appear in the list of available devices, allowing you to proceed with the pairing process.
