Vector Live: Allowing Local Network through Privacy & Security

Issue

When attempting to connect to your Vector Receiver with the Vector Live app on your iPad, you may experience difficulties getting your Receiver to connect in the app. This is almost always due to the Vector Live app not having the necessary permission to use your iPad Local Network.

How to allow Local Network through Privacy & Security for Vector Live

1. Open iOS Device Settings: Locate and tap the grey "Settings" app icon on your iOS Device's Home screen (it looks like gears).
2. Navigate to Privacy & Security: In the left-hand sidebar of the Settings app, scroll down and tap on Privacy & Security.
3. Access Local Network Permissions: On the "Privacy & Security" screen, look for and tap on Local Network.
4. Grant Vector Live Local Network Access:
   1. You will see a list of applications that have requested or been granted permission to use Local Network.
   2. Locate the "Vector Live" App in this list.
   3. Ensure the toggle switch next to "Vector Live" is turned on (green). If it is greyed out, it means the app does not have permission.

Return to the app and retry connecting

1. Once you've granted the Local Network permission in Settings, close the Settings app.
2. Force-Quit and Reopen Vector Live App.
3. Turn Off the Receiver and Turn On Again.
4. Go back to the Vector Live app.
5. Navigate to the connecting screen and attempt to connect your Vector Receiver.
6. Your Vector Receiver should now appear in the list of available devices, allowing you to proceed with the connecting process.

Further Troubleshooting Steps: Reset Network Settings

1. Navigate to iPad Settings > General
2. Scroll down and tap on Transfer or Reset iPhone/iPad
3.  Tap on Reset > Select Reset Network Settings
4. Return to the app and retry connecting
