What are Power States?
Power States are the different conditions that the T7 Dock can be in. Each condition has different levels of feature availability, and accompanying different levels of power consumption.
There are three power states on the T7 Dock:
Power State - On
When the T7 dock is On, it has full functionality. The On state is indicated by a Solid white Power Button LED.
In this state, the Dock can:
- Charge the Dock Battery (when connected to a power source)
- Charge connected devices
- Connect to the PC for data download and device configuration
- Connect Dock to WiFi [COMING SOON]
Power State - Standby
When the T7 Dock is in Standby, it is in a low power state. While in standby, the dock has limited functionality, but can last for approximately 8 days without needing to be charged. Standby is indicated by a Solid amber Power Button LED.
While in this State, the Dock can:
- Charge the Dock Battery (when connected to a power source)
- Charge connected devices (when connected to a power source)
Power State - Off
When the T7 Dock is Off, it retains no functionality. The dock is in a completely powered down state and is unable to interact with devices or the PC.
The dock cannot charge connected devices when it is fully off.
How to turn my Dock On
There are two methods to turn the dock on from either the Standby or Off state:
- Press the Power Button once
- Insert an active power supply
If the Dock was Off, the Power Button LED will flash white as the dock is turning on. This process will take ~45 seconds. Once the dock has finished powering on, the LED will stop flashing and remain solid.
If the Dock was in Standby, as there is a considerably shorter startup time, the Power Button LED will transition straight to solid white once the dock has turned on. This process takes ~2 seconds.
How to put my Dock into Standby
There are two methods for your T7 Dock to enter its Standby Mode:
- If the Power Button is pressed for less than 5 seconds, the dock will enter Standby.
- If the dock is using its battery and is idle for 20 minutes (i.e. not downloading device data), the dock will automatically enter Standby.
How to turn my Dock Off
To turn the Dock completely off, you must press and hold the power button for 5 seconds. When the Power Button LED begins to flash, the button can be released.
The Power Button will continue to flash until the Dock has completely powered down.
When the Dock is off, no LEDs on the dock will be illuminated.
