Where are the LEDs on the Vector 8 Dock?

There are 4 status LEDs located on the left of the Power/Ignition Button on the Vector 8 Dock.

Powering ON and OFF

  • Pressing the Power Button will turn the Dock on from both Off and Standby, with the LEDs flashing white as the Dock powers on. This process will take ~5 seconds. Once the dock has finished powering on, the LEDs will stop flashing and the Power Button will remain Solid White.

  • When finished using the Vector 8 Dock, press the Power Button to put the Dock into Standby.
  • To power the Dock off completely, first remove the power supply, then press the Power Button. 

What does each LED on the Vector 8 Dock mean?

Bluetooth Status LED

Indicates the Bluetooth connection status of the Dock whether it is searching or connected.

  • Breathing Blue = Dock Bluetooth is active and searching
  • Solid Blue = Dock Bluetooth is paired to another device
  • Flashing Red = Dock Bluetooth has encountered an error
  • Off = Dock Bluetooth is Off

WiFi Status LED

Indicates the WiFi status when the Dock is connecting or connected to a WiFi network.

  • Breathing Orange = Dock is searching for or connecting to a WiFi network
  • Breathing Yellow = Dock has connected to a WiFi network, but does not have internet access
  • Solid Yellow = Dock has connected to a WiFi network and has internet access
  • Flashing Red = Dock WiFi has encountered an error
  • Off = Dock WiFi is Off

Data Transfer Status LED

Indicates when the Dock is connected to an external device via USB-C and if data is being exchanged.

  • Breathing White = Connecting to PC
  • Solid White = Active PC connection
  • Breathing Orange = Connecting as "host"
  • Solid Orange = Active "Host" connection
  • Flashing Red = USB Fault

Battery Status LED

Indicates the current battery level and whether the battery is charging. When not connected to mains power, the dock runs on its internal battery for up to 180 minutes.

Dock is running on battery:

  • Flashing Red = Dock Battery level<10%
  • Solid Red = Dock Battery level 10-29%
  • Solid Yellow = Dock Battery level 30-79%
  • Solid Green = Dock Battery level +80%

 

Dock is plugged into a power source and in a charging state. The battery takes approximately 180 minutes to fully charge from a fully depleted state.

  • Flashing Red = Charging fault
  • Breathing Red = Dock is charging, Battery level <30%
  • Breathing Yellow = Dock is charging, Battery level 30-79%
  • Breathing Green = Dock is charging, Battery level 80-99%
  • Solid Green = Dock is fully charged, Battery level 100%

Power Button LED

Indicates the current power state of the Vector 8 Dock.

  • Breathing Orange = Dock is in Standby
  • Solid White = Dock is On
  • Off = Dock is Off
