What is the Catapult Baseball Series?
Catapult's Baseball Series allow for our powerful algorithms to detect baseball specific events such as pitches, throws and swings alongside a host of baseball specific parameters. This allows for better informed decisions on load management and allows users to gain Baseball specific performance insights.
The latest update in the series is the Baseball V2+ (version 2) which uses a newer, more accurate algorithm for improved Pitch, Swing and Throw event detection in the OpenField console. Version 2+ also includes a new set of summary parameters in the OpenField cloud and allows the user to collect event by event data both Live (in real time) and Post Activity. Baseball V2+ separates pitches from throwing events and also add in a layer of context for the type of pitch performed by the athlete (stretch and wind up).
The previous version: Baseball V1 (version 1) will become obsolete in June 2022, used the original detection algorithm to detect Baseball Pitches and Swings which has now been surpassed by version 2 both in terms of accuracy and features.
