WHAT IS THE VECTOR LIVE APP?
The Vector Live iPad app is designed specifically for use with Vector Devices and enables you to capture live data directly from an iPad. The system can be used in one of two modes:
- Standalone mode: Connect your iPad directly to your receivers and start collecting your data live. See the below guide to get started in standalone mode.

Streaming mode:
- Join a session running on another iPad via the receiver network in view or edit mode. For more information on running a multi-iPad session click here.
- Join a session running on OpenField console via the receiver network in view or edit mode. For more information on streaming locally click here.
- Join a session running on OpenField console via the internet. For more information on streaming via the internet click here.
STANDALONE MODE - QUICK START GUIDE
Minimum Requirements
- Vector Device on Firmware 8.1 or later
- Vector Receiver on Firmware 8.1 or later
- Apple iPad - Wi-Fi (iOS 13 or later)

Getting Started with Vector Live

Open the Vector Live App, login using your OpenField Cloud/Console credentials, and select your region. Please ensure you have internet connection to complete this step.
- Prior to running your first session ensure you have connected your devices and receiver/s to OpenField Console and assigned your devices to your athletes. Following this you will need to sync from the console and sync the settings down to the iPad within Settings > Sync whilst you have an internet connection.
- Now you are ready to go.
- Power on the Vector Receiver(s) by holding the power button for ~2 seconds.

Select Standalone and click anywhere in the connect to receiver box to enter your receiver ID & password which can be found on the back of your receiver.
Important: The Wi-Fi name and password must be identical to what is found on the receiver including capitals and spaces. If you are struggling to connect check the Wi-Fi name within the iOS Wi-Fi settings.
- Press Connect to Receiver which should now be orange.
- Once the Vector Receiver is connected, the number of athletes detected will display, and the Start Activity button will be visible and clickable.
- Turn the Vector Devices on. Ensure the Vector Receiver's Network Indicator LED is flashing light blue and the Vector Device's Ultra-Wideband LED is solid amber.

Press Start Activity.
- Enter in the activity name, click the associated team/s from the drop-down menu, add in your day codes & tags, and if created you can set thresholds before you click Create Activity.
- Press the + icon in the top left corner of the App to create a new Period. The Activity will not start until a Period is created.
- To rename a Period, tap the right edge of a Period Timeline box and swipe left. Tap Edit. type a Period Name in the Text box and select a period tag. Standard Period Names will populate if they have been set up. Tap Save Changes.
- To add athletes to the Period, tap the Period timeline to select it and press the PIP athletes icon on the period.
- Select athletes to add to the selected period (they will turn blue) and press Apply. Data will now be displayed on screen.
- Select individual periods to view data for that period. Select the activity bar to view cumulative data across the activity. Data can be viewed in the Tile, Table or Heart Rate Dashboard. For more information on each of these Dashboards, please see our Data Dashboards section.
- To end the Activity, press the Stop Activity button. This will initiate review mode, where you can review period and activity information, export CSV and sync activity data to the cloud.
Syncing Activities to the OpenField Cloud and Console
- Once an Activity has been stopped, the user will enter review mode. From this menu, click Sync To Cloud.
Note: If the user is disconnected from the internet and has clicked Sync to Cloud, the Activity will be stored locally until the iPad connects internet where it will automatically sync. To manually push a sync, navigate to the Settings menu and click Sync. - Once the Activity has been synced to the cloud, navigate to the OpenField Console and complete a sync prior to downloading your devices. This will sync the activity, period and athlete information to both the OpenField Cloud and Console.
- To view data for the Activity, please download the devices and then navigate to the Activity in the Activities Menu from the OpenField console.
Note: The Activity will be named by the start date and time of the Activity. - To exit review mode in the Vector Live App, press the X button at the top of the screen and follow the prompts. You can now start a new Vector Live session.
Tip: Making athlete setting changes in the Cloud or device mapping changes in the console? Ensure you sync Vector Live to ensure these changes are active in App.

DASHBOARDS OVERVIEW
There are 4 data dashboard types in Vector Live:
- Chart View - View data for all athletes for 1, or 2 with timeline hidden, parameter in a column chart
- Tile View - View data per athlete for up to 3 parameters
- Table View - View data and conditionally format for all athletes across all parameters
- Heart Rate Tile View - View Heart Rate data per athlete and add % max HR thresholds in tile view

TIPS & TRICKS
Hide the Timeline
Using two fingers, you can click and drag up to hide the timeline and with two fingers click and drag down to show.
Reorder your Parameters in Table View
Just head to the parameters window and select the Selected parameters section at the bottom of the window. From here you can simply drag to reorder and hit done once complete.
Track Athletes from Multiple Teams
How to have athletes from multiple teams available to be PIP'ed into a Period on the Vector Live App:
- Prior to starting your activity, from any menu of the Vector Live App, click Settings in the bottom right corner of the screen.
- Click Teams.
- Click each team you want to select athletes from to PIP them into a Period for a New Activity.
- Return to the main Settings menu.
- Click Done.
- Start a New Activity.
Group Creation
This function allows users to filter the data view dashboards by manually created athlete groups based on position, training status etc.

From any of the Dashboard views, click + Add Group.
- From the Group Management menu type in a group name in the Group Name text box.
- Under All Athletes, type in the Athlete's name you want to add to the group.
- Click the + button beside their name.
- Once all athletes have been added to the Group, click Save.
Data Export
Vector Live enables the instant export of a CSV from the Table View dashboard.
This function will export data for all active parameters and athletes within your Table View Dashboard. The Data exported is also relative to the period or activity you have selected. To customize the report, use the parameter picker to select parameters and their order.
