Device Alarms allow you to schedule a time for selected Vector devices to automatically turn on before a session.
Before you begin
Make sure:
- You are signed in to the Catapult Vector app on the iPad or mobile device you use for setup.
- Ideally, the devices you want to include in the alarm are docked, the dock is powered on and the dock is connected to the internet so it can receive and sync the alarm.
Good to know: Alarms are stored locally on the device they were created on. If your staff use multiple iPads, create, edit, and check the alarm from the same iPad.
Set an alarm
- In the Catapult Vector app, open the Device Alarms tab.
- Use the Team Filter in the top-right corner to select the team or teams you want to set the alarm for.
- Tap + Alarm.
- Enter an Alarm Name and select the time you want the devices to turn on.
- Use a recognisable name based on the session such as Tuesday AM Practice.
- Tap + Add to select the devices that should receive the alarm.
- Select the checkbox beside each device you want to include, then tap Done.
- Tap Save.
The alarm appears in the Device Alarms list and begins syncing to the selected devices. If the dock is offline or the device is not docked, the alarms will appear as 'not syned' and is technically not set on the alarm.
View alarm status
The Device Alarms tab gives you an overview of each alarm, including:
- Sync Status - whether the alarm has successfully synced to all selected devices.
- Countdown - how long remains until the alarm is triggered.
- Scheduled time - the time the devices are scheduled to turn on.
- Device count - the number of devices included in the alarm.
Upcoming alarms are highlighted. Once the scheduled time has passed, the alarm remains in the list but appears greyed out.
View individual device status
Tap an alarm to open its details.
From here, you can:
- Check the sync status of each individual device to identify devices that have not yet received the alarm.
- Tap Edit to:
- Add or remove devices.
- Rename the alarm.
- Change the scheduled time.
If a device has not synced, dock it, power the dock on and connect the dock to the internet.
Reuse a previous alarm
Past alarms remain in the Device Alarms list, making it easy to reuse the same device group for another session.
To reuse an alarm:
- Tap the past alarm you want to reuse.
- Tap Edit.
- Select a new alarm time.
- Update the alarm name or device list if required.
- Tap Save.
The updated alarm will begin syncing to the selected devices. If a device has not synced, dock it, power the dock on and connect the dock to the internet.
Troubleshooting
| Issue | What to do |
|---|---|
| Some devices have not synced to the alarm | Open the alarm details to identify which devices are still outstanding. To ensure the device has synced, dock it, power the dock on and connect the dock to the internet. Try different slots if a particular slot is not working. Otherwise please reach out to support |
| The alarm is not visible on another iPad | Alarms are stored on the device they were created on. Check the iPad or mobile device originally used to create the alarm. |
| A device did not turn on at the scheduled time | Confirm the device was included in the alarm, had successfully synced before the scheduled time, and had sufficient battery charge. |
| Expected devices are missing when adding devices | Check the Team Filter in the top-right corner of the main 'Device Alarms' page and confirm the correct team or teams are selected. |
