What is an Annotation Category and Annotation?
An annotation category is used to group similar types of events, such as “Ball in Play”, “In Possession” or “Goals". An annotation is a specific instance within a category, marked with a start and end time. For example, the period when a team gains possession until they lose it, or the 5 minutes leading up to their first goal. Categories help standardize and organize annotations across data sets, making it easier to analyze and report on them. In the Cloud Editor, you can create and rename annotation categories to suit your workflow, and these categories along with the annotations are available for reporting in OpenField Cloud.
