Purpose
Following on from customer feedback, a number of design changes have been made to the Vector Elite Vest 2.1, implemented in June 2021.
The aim of the changes is to improve athlete comfort without compromising heart rate data quality or durability of the garment. Please see below for a detailing of the changes.
Changes to the design
- Reduce the double stitching in the corners of the velcro section to reduce thickness and hard edges that cause skin irritation.
- Add a small lycra section adjacent to the velcro to eliminate the chance of the edge of the velcro rubbing on the skin.
- Move the velcro section forward to reduce thickness of material under the arm.
- Extended the neoprene section to reduce the likelihood of velcro rubbing on skin and provide greater ability to adjust fit to improve comfort.

Image 2 - Inside Edge. Upper image is the original v2.1 design, the lower image is the updated design. Key change is to eliminate the thick edge in the original design.

Shows the neoprene section has been moved forward and extended. These changes improve athlete comfort by reducing the thickness of the vest under the arm, eliminate overlapping stitch lines and the chance of the velcro rubbing directly on the skin. Additional benefit of this change is the vest is easier to fit and adjust for the athlete.
