WHAT IS THE VECTOR HARDWARE UPDATE TOOL
The Vector Hardware Update Tool allows you to update the firmware on your Vector Docks and Receivers to the latest firmware version available with a single click.
'Firmware' is a software program or set of instructions programmed on a hardware device.
As new features are developed and improvements are made to the functionality of a product, it is important to ensure your devices are always running the latest firmware in order get the most from your Catapult system.
To get started, the Vector Hardware Update Tool needs to be download from the OpenField Cloud > Downloads page. Once installed, simply follow the instructions on the tool to begin the firmware upgrade process for your Vector dock(s) or receiver(s).
GETTING STARTED

Navigate to the OpenField Cloud > Downloads page and select the OpenField Tools stream.

Click Download to download the latest installer.

Run the installer.
Note: the Vector Hardware Update Tool will only work to detect Receivers or Docks on a PC that has had OpenField Console installed on it. -
Once installed, click on the Vector Hardware Update Tool desktop icon to open the tool.
HOW TO USE THE VECTOR HARDWARE UPDATE TOOL
- Ensure OpenField Console is closed.

Connect PC to the internet.

Power on a Vector Receiver or Dock. Wait for the bottom Receiver LED to turn blue / wait for the Dock LED around the button to stay solid.

Connect the single Vector Receiver or Dock to your computer via USB.
- When connecting a Receiver to the computer, the Vector Hardware Update Tool may briefly show a 'No Internet Connection' view, while the Receiver establishes a network with your computer.

Click Start Update when the button is enabled and orange.

Once the update is complete the Vector Hardware Update Tool will show an 'Update Successful' view.

The Dock or Receiver will then power cycle (turn itself off then on again) to finalize the firmware upgrade process. You may notice the 'No Hardware Connected' view appear on the Vector Hardware Update Tool during this time.

You can unplug the connected device and connect another powered on Vector Receiver or Vector Dock to update it.
