What are Log Files?
Log files are text files created by OpenField that can provide information to Support about the operation of OpenField. There are 3 logs files created by OpenField; Logs, Broadcaster Logs and Retriever Logs. Logs provide information about the general operation of Console including syncing and opening/closing while broadcaster and retriever logs provide information about receiver connection and data transfer respectfully.
How are Logs Applicable?
Log files help Catapult Support identify and resolve issues with the OpenField Console that can prevent users from using the OpenField Console to it's full potential.
Common issues that can be investigated and resolved by providing log files include:
- Live data issues
- Installation issues
- Syncing issues
How to Find Log Files?
Log files can be found in the following location on your PC - C:\Users\username\Documents\Catapult Sports\OpenField\Logs\DateofSession.
To reach this location Open File Explorer on your PC and select the Documents folder.
Select the folder named Catapult Sports.
- Select Logs.
- Select the date when the issue occurred/dates requested by Catapult Support.
- Select Log, Retriever and BroadcasterLog as requested by Catapult Support and attach in ongoing Support ticket.
- At times it is more convenient to Zip and send the entire Dated Log Folder. To do this, right click on the Dated Log Folder(s) and select Send to > Compressed (zipped) folder.
A Zipped folder will then be generated, which can be attached and sent in your Support Ticket.
