Keeping your Vector devices on the latest firmware ensures:

Access to the newest features and improvements
Optimal device performance and stability
Compatibility with the latest OpenField updates
Reduced risk of data or connectivity issues

The ‘Upgrade Devices’ tile on the OF Console screen allows you to update the firmware of connected Vector devices whenever a new version is available.

Quick Steps to Upgrade Firmware

1. Connect the Dock

Connect the Vector Dock to your PC using a USB Type B (Dock end) to USB Type A (PC end) cable.
Open OpenField.

2. Insert Devices

Place the Vector devices into the Dock.
Power on the Dock.
Wait until the GPS Status LED turns solid white.

3. Open the Upgrade Tile

Select the ‘Upgrade Devices’ tile on the OpenField Console screen.
The Device Upgrade Wizard will show how many devices are connected and the available firmware version.

4. Start the Update

Select ‘Update Now’.
Devices updating will show an amber LED.

5. Finish

When complete, review the summary.
Select ‘Finished’ or ‘Upgrade More Devices’ if needed.

Important

Do not remove devices or disconnect the Dock during the update.
Ensure the USB cable is securely connected before starting.
If unsure about the correct firmware version, contact Support or your Customer Success representative before proceeding.
