With what Radio Frequency does the Vector Device and Receiver communicate with?
The Vector Device Range (S7, G7 and X7) and Vector Receiver communicate using Ultra Wide Band (UWB) Wireless Communications at 4.0GHz.
Is the Vector Device and Receiver Wireless communications susceptible to interference?
The Ultra Wide Band (UWB) protocol used for wireless communications (4.0/6.5GHz) between Vector Device(s) and Receiver(s) provides more robust communication and a greater immunity to interference from third-party environmental sources such as Wi-Fi, compared to non-UWB RF communications.
If the Vector Device and Receiver is used in an environment with excessive external sources of UWB RF signals, the wireless communication between Device(s) and Receiver(s) may be impacted.
We have extensively tested the Vector Receiver in high noise environments and have found commonly used technologies such as drones and WiFi to have no little impact on live data quality.
Does the Wireless signal between the Receiver and Device travel through the Human Body?
The Wireless signal between the Vector Receiver and Device do not easily permeate through the Human Body.
This means in general there needs to be a clear Line of Sight between Device and Receiver for communications to be successful.
For example, when an Athlete is wearing a Vector Device on their back, the Vector Device and Receiver can communicate when the Athlete is facing/moving away from the Receiver.
When the Athlete turns around to face the Receiver, their body blocks the Line of Sight between Device and Receiver, and the Device may not be 'seen' by the Receiver.
This issue can be remedied by making use of a Multi-Receiver Set-Up to track Live Data.
