What is the Data Manager?
The Data Manager is an OpenField Tool that manages OpenField's Data 'Assets' and their physical storage path, to allow for Data to load when an Activity is opened in the OpenField Console, or Sync to the Cloud when a Sync is performed.
Why use the Data Manager?
The Data Manager should be used if you want to move OpenField's Data Assets (.Raw files and .OFD files) from one pathed location to another.
This is often required if your PC's Disk/Storage space is becoming full after extensive use of the OpenField Software to download and process Data from Devices.
By default, OpenField's Data Assets will be pathed to, and located in, the relevant folder in the My Documents location on your PC.
- Raw Files by Default will be pathed to C:\Users\WindowsUserName\Documents\Catapult Sports\Retriever\YYYY_MM_DD
- OFD files by Default will be pathed to C:\Users\WindowsUserName\Documents\Catapult Sports\Databases\yourOFusernamehere\YYYY\MM\DD
To Move Data Assets using the Data Manager, see Moving Data Files & Assets for more information.
The Data Manager is also required to 'Resolve' missing Data Assets, in order for data to load when opening an Activity. This can occur if files have been physically moved from the pathed location to another location on or off the PC without the use of the Data Manager.
This also means if you have moved PC's and wish to view data 'Locally' on the Console on the new PC, you will need to 'Resolve' missing Data Assets as some of the Folder locations or 'Paths' may have changed.
For data to load on the Console the .OFD data files must be located in the Pathed location, per the Data Manager.
To Resolve Data Assets using the Data Manager, see Resolving Missing Data Files & Assets for more information.
