Overview
Starting in Vector App 2.21, users can assign hardware to specific teams within their account. This allows the app to be filtered so users only see hardware and uploads relevant to their selected team(s), helping reduce clutter and simplify hardware management.
Team assignment is supported for:
- S8 / S7 docks, devices
- S8 Receivers
Benefits
Assigning hardware to teams allows users to:
- View only the hardware relevant to their team
- Filter uploads and activities by team
- Reduce unnecessary on screen information
- Simplify hardware management in multi-team environments
Important Information
- All existing hardware is unassigned by default.
- To use team-based filtering, docks, receivers, and devices must be manually assigned to a team.
- Team assignment is now a required step during onboarding for new hardware.
- Newly added S8 devices that have not completed First Time Setup (FTS) will remain unassigned until assigned to a team.
Assigning Hardware to a Team
Docks and Receivers
- Navigate to Hardware.
- Select the dock or receiver you want to assign.
- Select Assigned Team.
- Choose the appropriate team from the dropdown list.
Devices
- Navigate to Hardware > Devices.
- Select Select from the Devices banner.
- Use the checkboxes to select one or more devices.
- Select Assign Team.
- Choose the appropriate team.
Filtering the App by Team
A team filter is available at the top of the following pages:
- Hardware
- Uploads
- Activities
Selecting one or more teams will filter the entire app to display only hardware, uploads, and activities associated with those teams.
Additional Notes
- The selected team filter persists on the device, even after logging out or navigating to other areas of the app.
- Multiple teams can be selected at the same time.
- Selecting All (or clearing all team selections) displays all hardware and uploads available within the account.
