Overview
Running a live activity with no live data allows users to create activities, clip periods, and add athletes with no X7/S7/S8 device data being streamed back to the Vector App. This is useful for teams who either don't have access to hardware needed to connect to devices, such as receivers, or are not allowed to track live data due to league or division rules.
How to turn live data stream off
-
Open the Catapult Vector app and navigate to the Activity tab.
- Click on +Activity to create a new activity.
-
Under Live data stream, select Off.
Note: If you are a Vector 8 user, this will be the default option in Catapult Vector.
- Give the Activity a name and assign a Day Code as you would for any standard live activity, then click Start.
-
Click +Period to create new Periods, and +Athletes to add Athletes to those periods.
-
You can save frequently used Period names by clicking Add to library. To remove a saved Period name, click the x next to it.
Note: These names are not saved to the Cloud; you can only use these locally on your mobile device.
- Athletes successfully added to the Period will appear in the In Play group. Athletes who can be added but are not yet part of the Period will appear in Not in Play. If an athlete is already assigned to another active Period, they will appear in the Unavailable group.
-
If you need to restart a Period for any reason (e.g., American Football TV timeouts), click on the More menu on the right side of the Period and select Restart. The Period will then restart from the moment you click Restart.
Note: If you click Stop and then Play again using the icon in the period list, this will include the time between stopping and resuming. This does not act as a restart.
- When the Live Activity is complete, click End. This will automatically stop all Live periods. You will be given the option to either Discard or Save & Exit.
- Discard: Will not save the activity metadata and no live periods will be saved to the Cloud.
-
Save & Exit: Will save the activity metadata (Activity name, all Periods and Athletes created, etc.) to the Cloud. Once you download the raw files from the devices, the data will automatically populate the live Periods you created.
