For accounts that have multiple users, User Permissions can be used to restrict or allow the viewing and editing of content in OpenField for each sub user. Each sub user is assigned a User Type. By default, Administration, Coach and Athlete User types are generated with set permission levels. The Administration User type is automatically applied to the main OpenField account and cannot be modified.
Editing User Permission Levels
-
Log in to the primary OpenField Cloud account.
-
Navigate to the Settings > Users & Permissions menu.
-
Select List Account Types.
-
Select the Edit option for the User Type you wish to change the permission levels for.
-
From the edit screen there are three main functions:
-
Change the Name of the User Type.
-
Select which other User Types can create a sub user account of this type (in the example below, a sub user account with the User Type Coach can only be created by an Administration account).
-
Edit the actions that are allowed by this user type by selecting each option under Allowed Actions. For a description of each of theses actions, please see the Modifiable Permission Definitions section in this guide.
-
-
Select Update Account Type when finished.
Creating a new User Type
-
From the List Account Types page select Add New Account Type.
-
The Add New Account Type page is almost identical to the Edit User Type page found previously, except that none of the options have been filled in.
-
Complete the fields: name, who can create the account and allowed actions as desired.
-
When finished, select Add New Account Type. The newly created User type is now available to be applied to sub users.
