What are Repeat High Intensity Efforts (RHIEs)?
Repeat High Intensity Efforts provide the ability to identify periods where athletes have put in repeated ‘high intensity’ velocity efforts without adequate recovery. Successive individual high intensity efforts that are repeated within a pre determined time frame are grouped into RHIE bouts.
Users can set thresholds that must be met in order for high intensity efforts to be included in an RHIE set.
If your account has Acceleration and Velocity Generation 1 and Generation 2 parameters, only the Generation 2 Acceleration or Velocity efforts will be included in RHIEs as per the bands set for the Generation 2 parameters.
How are Repeat High Intensity Efforts (RHIE) applicable?
Repeat High Intensity Effort detection allows the end user the ability to collect data on repeated high intensity sprints in which the athlete has not had time to adequately recover. The information gathered can provide feedback on the relative fitness of an athlete.
How to set Thresholds for the Repeat High Intensity Efforts (RHIEs)?
Thresholds must be set for RHIE Effort Count, Recover, Velocity Bands and Acceleration Bands. To set each of these, please complete the following:
- Navigate to the OpenField Cloud and click Settings in the top left corner of the screen.
- From the Settings menu, select the 'Teams' tab from the left hand menu.
- Click the team you want to adjust the RHIE setting for.
- Scroll down to the following settings and in each of the corresponding field boxes adjust the values accordingly
RHIE Effort Count: The minimum amount of successive high intensity efforts needed to create a RHIE bout.
RHIE Effort Recovery: The maximum amount of time allowed between repeat high intensity efforts in order for the effort to be included in an RHIE bout.
Velocity RHIE Bands: If an effort was to reach the selected velocity band(s) it would be considered a high intensity effort. Bands are separated by a comma and a space (e.g 4,5,6,7,8)
Acceleration RHIE Bands: If an effort was to reach the selected Acceleration band(s) it would be considered a high intensity effort. Bands are separated by a comma and a space (e.g 4,5,6,7,8)
